Hello! My name is Jerica Conner, and I am the 7th and 8th grade language arts teacher for this upcoming school year! This will be my tenth year teaching language arts, and my fourth year at Germantown. I couldn't be more excited to continue my teaching career in this district.
I have been married to my husband, David Conner, for six years now. We have one furry child, Winnie and our two year old daughter, Jemma, who was born on April 14, 2020. David is also a teacher, so we enjoy spending our summers together. I LOVE to travel, spend time with family and friends, read, warm weather, and running.
I graduated from Centralia High School is 2009, and I went to Kaskaskia College for one year. After one year there, I attended Eastern Illinois University and received my Bachelors of Science in Education. My main concentration was English, but I also received endorsements in Middle School, Social Science, and Science. I hope one day to receive my Masters Degree.
When I was in fifth grade, I had an amazing teacher who inspired me to go into education. I am SO happy that I made this choice. Teaching is one of the most exciting, challenging, and rewarding careers. When I see a child finally understand something new, or see them laugh and smile in my classroom, I know I am in the right place. I enjoy getting to know every student who comes into my classroom. I am very excited to get to know your child this year and watch them grow as a reader and writer. My goal this year is for your child, and every child that comes into my language arts classroom, to become the BEST reader and writer they can be. And more importantly, enjoy doing it!
